Privacy Policy
CheckMED (“the app”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed and how when you use the CheckMED mobile application and when you visit the official CheckMED website.
CheckMED is local-first: we do not operate user accounts for the app, we do not store your medication data on our servers, and we do not upload that data to our servers.
However, when ads are displayed or when you visit the official website, limited technical or advertising-related data may be processed by third-party service providers as described below.

⚠️ The app does not require your name, phone number, email address, precise location, or account credentials for core app use.

- Basic page request or referral information
This website is intended to provide public information about the app and this Privacy Policy. We do not use the website to collect medication plans or intake logs.

Website-related technical information and limited third-party advertising data may be processed only to:
- Deliver the website content
- Maintain security and service stability
- Display and measure ads
- Prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Storage and security
- Medication-related data stays in the app’s sandbox on your device.
- We do not operate a backend that stores your medication records.
- Stored app data is protected with AES-256 encryption.
- Keys are protected using Android Keystore / iOS Keychain.
- Schedule and log data may be health-related; it is processed on device and is not transmitted by us to external servers for storage.
- We take reasonable measures designed to protect information under our control, but no method of storage, transmission, or device operation can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
4. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell or provide your medication records (such as clinic names, pharmacy names, medication names, condition names, schedules, or logs) to third parties.
- Analytics Software Development Kits (Software Development Kits, SDKs) for medication data by us ❌

Related policies:
4-2. Website hosting and delivery
Our official website may be hosted or delivered through third-party infrastructure providers.
Those providers may process limited technical data, such as IP address, browser information, and request metadata, to deliver the website, maintain security, and operate the service.
4-3. International processing
Some third-party services we use, such as advertising, hosting, delivery, or security providers, may process limited technical or advertising-related information in countries outside your own country.
Where this occurs, such processing is carried out by the relevant third-party provider under its own policies and operational safeguards.
5. Retention and deletion
- Medication-related data remains on your device while you use the app.
- You may delete it at any time using the methods below.
- We do not keep a separate server-side copy of your medication plans or logs.
How to delete
- Uninstall the app: locally stored app data is removed from the device according to the operating system behavior.
- Use the in-app “reset data” feature: locally stored data is removed according to that feature’s behavior.
Because we do not store your medication records on our servers, there is no separate “cloud copy” to erase on our side.
5-1. Rights and requests
Subject to applicable law, you may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information that we control, or to ask questions or make a complaint about our privacy practices.
Because medication plans and logs are stored locally on your device and not on our servers, we may not be able to access or retrieve those records for you.
6. Permissions
The app may request permissions needed to provide reminders:
Notifications
- Purpose: deliver dose reminders
Exact alarms (where applicable)
- Purpose: fire alarms at the times you configure
- Note: helps reduce delays under doze / background restrictions on some devices
Vibration / sound
- Purpose: make reminders easier to notice
Battery optimization exceptions (optional)
- Purpose: reduce cases where reminders are blocked by power saving
- You may refuse; the app may still be usable with reduced reminder reliability
Foreground service (where applicable)
- Purpose: improve reliability and audio playback for notifications when needed
- Scope: medication notifications only; not used to collect or transmit medication data
Lock screen / full-screen alerts
- Behavior: depending on settings, alerts may appear on the lock screen or as full-screen notifications
- Purpose: help you notice dose times
- Control: you can change presentation in system notification settings
The app does not request contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, or broad file access for core functionality.
7. Medical information and limitations
The app is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, emergency monitoring, or professional medical judgment.
- Schedules are based on information you enter.
- We do not provide medical judgment, treatment recommendations, or emergency response services.
- The app assists with logging and reminders only.
- If you suspect an emergency, adverse reaction, overdose, or urgent medical issue, do not rely on the app. Contact a qualified healthcare provider or emergency services for your region immediately (for example 911, 112, 119, or your local emergency number).
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for checking whether reminders have been received.
- Notifications may be delayed, interrupted, silenced, or unavailable due to operating system policies, permissions, focus modes, battery optimization, background restrictions, reboots, time-zone changes, device state, network conditions, manufacturer policies, user settings, or other factors outside our control.
- Local data may be changed, removed, or become unavailable due to device resets, operating system behavior, app removal, storage issues, or user actions.
- Disclaimer: to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim liability for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the app or website, including delayed or missed reminders, data loss, interrupted notifications, website unavailability, or input errors.
- Nothing in this policy excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
8. Children
The app and website are not directed to children under the minimum age required for independent consent under applicable law.
We do not knowingly collect medication-related personal information from children through a server-based account system for the app.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when features, service providers, or legal requirements change.
Material changes may be communicated through the website, in-app notices, or store listing updates.
